Today, I decided to change my website, just to add a blog. This is a common idea, I know, but sometimes it can be useful for others. So there I am. I will usually write in english since I have to improve my writing skills. If you believe I should stick to my mother tongue (french), feel free to warn me.

Last weekend was quite busy. On saturday, the whole day was reserved since I supervised a CISSP exam in Paris. I took the opportunity to make my slides for the upcoming Rump Session that I will present at SSTIC 2006 in 3 weeks. Talking about RCE (Reverse Engineering) benefits for a CSO. As usual the slides will be available on my website as soon as I will have presented the topic at SSTIC.

That’s it ! I have decided to start my blog !

Initially, when I relooked my website using Joomla I was hoping that it could be used for all my needs, the publication of the static contents of my web (publications, speakings etc.) as well as for the dynamic part (aka my blog). Unfortunately I soon realized that Joomla was a way too powerful, thus really slow and not adapted to a simple blog message writing a couple of times a day - or week.

I had hesitated between Joomla and Dotclear at the beginning. Now I have made my choice, since I use them both ! Dotclear is really perfect for bloggers, as it is simple to use and offers a quick way of posting new articles. Joomla offers all the complex and subtile parameters that are useful for static contents.

Update 2 :

I have moved a few of my past posts from Joomla to Dotclear. Not a difficult task but it takes some time since Joomla is reacting really slowly on the server… I’m really convinced that Dotclear will ease my life now on !
