Last evening the Securitech Challenge closing event was captivating.

After a detailed presentation of the challenges and their solutions, the winners obtained their prizes. Then, we went to a pizzeria (difficult task to find one at 10PM that wasn’t crowded enough since we were around 20) until midnight, and finished the evening (night?!) in a bar around 2 AM. Most conversations were about CRC algorithms breaking, algorithms reversing on several environments, shellcode creation and so on… Really interesting !

This morning I was a bit afraid since my websites didn’t answer… A further investigation quickly led to the conclusion that my DNS registrar had their servers down… a bit frightening, since they manage DNS entries for tenths of thousands of websites… But it was a short outage and everything returned back to normal less than an hour later.
