Nos amis les terriens (Our terrestrians friends)
This is a movie I’m impatient to watch. The famous bestseller author Bernard Werber wanted long ago (20 years ago !!) to make this movie. The also famous movie maker Claude Lelouch has made this possible…
In fact, even if it is still not on the screens yet, the movie is already a matter of controversial issues.
The scenario is very special…
…so special, that all the major companies and televisions channels refused to finance the movie, so Claude Lelouch had to sponsor himself the whole film.
…so special, that even since all the scenes of the movie have been shot, and even if it is ready for theaters since december 2005, it is still not available for public projection. It was planned to be available in spring 2006…
… so special, that even its trailer is considered as indecent by some close-minded people.
It is a fiction documentary, done exactly the same way as animals documentaries about wild life are done. It could have been a documentary from National Geographic about wild life in Africa or about kangaroos in Australia. Instead, it is a documentary presented by aliens, about human beings.
It shows a crude description of our daily behaviour, how we handle our lives and our world, how we reproduce ourselves, how we manage social life, make wars and so on… The fact that it was done as a documentary is chilling and amazing. That explains why it was controversed, and nearly banned from public. Too much important ideas are exposed, ideas about life that the “basic citizen” can not accept. This movie leverages the same problems as the Qatsi trilogy did, and this trilogy was indeed not very famous since it was maybe “showing too much” about our way of life and the way the human civilization could perhaps one day collapse.
I encourage you to visit the official site of the movie, to take a look at the trailer (I warned you, it is special !), and finally to read the page about the film itself on Bernard Werber’s website.
For open-minded people only !
